Chris Powell brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to Green White Soccer Club.  He has spent most of his career in Illinois with various Travel and Recreational Programs.  Starting his soccer career as a High School Soccer coach in his hometown for Sturgeon Bay High School from 1994 to 1998.  After a short break from soccer, Chris found himself at Palatine Celtic Soccer Club from 2000 to 2009 where he was a staff coach and Girl's Travel Director.  From 2009 to 2012 he was a staff coach for Kansas City Strikers, and Director of Kansas City Strikers Academy Program, and from 2010 to 2011 was a staff coach for Kansas ODP program.  From there Chris found himself with the St Pete Raiders (VSI Flames) from 2012 to 2014 where he was a staff coach and Director of the Club's School of Excellence (SOE).  Chris returned to the Chicagoland area and from 2014 to 2020 he was a staff coach at FCX in Barrington, IL.  He has been with Green White Soccer Club as a staff coach since 2020.

Chris holds the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, USSF Y License, and PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) Certificate.

Outside of soccer Chris works for a local construction management firm and holds a Masters of Construction Business from Oklahoma University and a Bachelors Degree in History from Iowa State University.  He and his wife Tracy live in Palatine with their 2 children, Lily and Gavin.
